Walter was first exposed to computers in 1979, when an Apple ][ came to live with his family. Shortly thereafter, he had some actual programming classes using Fortran and punch cards. Building things with computer software/hardware has been part of his life ever since.
During what he calls the Dark Years, Walter worked in IT Management. Finally, he escaped the corporate world in 2010.
Walter primarily supports his family through contract software development in iOS and leading hands-on training classes. He earns an additional pittance from the various app stores.
