I have been a software developer for over forty years, starting out on the ZX81 (Timex Sinclair 1000) and going downhill from there. I work front and back end, high and low level, writing code that is legible and utterly opaque in equal measure (though I aim for the former). I am believe that the laws of software development are advisory, much like the laws of physics. I also write fiction, radio and television comedy, and reviews of genre audio drama; and in a past life I spent ten years as a stand up comic. In my spare time I have a day job.
