3 mins

We’re happy to announce our 14th new course since WWDC is now available: Beginning iOS 10 Part 2: Checklists!

This course is for complete beginners to iOS development, and picks up where Beginning iOS 10 Part 1: Getting Started leaves off.

In this course, you’ll create your second iOS app: a multi-screen app that introduces you to core iOS development concepts like table views, MVC, navigation controllers, and more.

By the time you’re done these two courses, you’ll know enough to create your own basic iOS apps, and continue with the other courses on this site! Let’s take a look at what’s inside.

Video 1: Introduction. In this video, you’ll get a quick overview of what you’ll learn in this series, and take a tour of the app you’ll create: a simple checklists app.

Video 2: Table Views. In this video, you’ll learn the basics of table views and how to incorporate them into your app.

Video 3: Delegates and Data Sources. This will video will cover the process of adding data sources and delegates to your table views.

Video 4: MVC. This video introduces you to the MVC design pattern and how to refactor your app to use MVC.

Video 5: Adding and Deleting Items. This video introduces you to the process of adding and removing items from your table view.

Video 6: Show Segues. This video covers the basics of setting up show segue between two view controllers and a navigation controller.

Video 7: Text Fields. This video covers how to use text fields and what it means to be apart of the responder chain.

Video 8: Passing Data. In this video, you’ll learn how to pass data between view controllers by means of a segue.

Video 9: Saving Data. This video will cover the process of saving your app’s data to disk using the NSCoding protocol.

Video 10: Conclusion. This video reviews everything that was covered and gives you suggestions on where you can continue to develop iOS content.
