Note: that to use iBooks Author, you’ll need a Macintosh computer running OSX 10.7.4 or later and if you’d like to do previewing, an iPad with iBooks 3.0 installed on it.

Because for some reason Apple thought it unneccessary to include iBooks capable readers for the Mac, even if it was iBooks Author only :(

Do not use videos on the front unless 1). They are extremely useful 2). They can be bypassed. This is as bad an idea as the long discredited splash home page on the web. I have neither the time nor the patience with being forced to wait to view some egotist's home video, but want to control my experience and get to the heart of the book immediately.
