Where can I get free assets for my game ?

Hi

I'm trying to do a free game like "1945" but I don't know much about graphic design. I don't want to release the game in AppStore, I only want to learn how to make that kind of games. But I need some graphics to do it: the hero (plane), some kinds of enemies, backgrounds, bullets, HUD and so on...

Anyone know where can I get some free (or very low cost) graphics & sounds ??
