Rage comics can be universally applied to everything. 8-)

Hi Ray

I have a number of suggestions

>OpenGL(possibly a series from beginners to pro :P )

>as mentioned before, a side scroller

>app that can connect to others on the same network. e.g. a basic tic-tac-toe game which can be played by 2 players using bonjour/bluetooth or local network.

>Controlling 3d objects in an iOS app. e.g. Importing a 3d object, rotating, moving, modifying it.

Thanks

You should check out Ray and Rod's upcoming book on Cocos2d. It has a side scroller game in it.

Hi all,

It's about time for me to start working on the next tutorial, and based on the votes the winner was "How To Make A Simple Networked Game" with 88 votes! So that will be coming up soon, thanks for everyone who voted!

I've set up a new vote on the sidebar with 5 new topics. 1 was the 2nd place winner from last time, 1 was an idea from me, and 3 were ideas from you guys (I just made a guess which would be of most interest to people). Here's the new list:

  • Introduction to OpenGL ES for iOS (via @jarryd)
  • Xcode 4 Transition Guide (via @Kalgar)
  • How To Perform Test Driven Development on iOS (also via @Kalgar)
  • How To Integrate Apple Push Notification Services (2nd place winner from last time)
  • How To Make A Simple Game with Flash (idea from me)

If you have any more ideas or suggestions for the next vote, please chime in! :]

I would like to see some sort of sockets tutorial for making a game that continuously talks with a server (preferably a java sever). Basically for making online games and mmo games.

Thank you Ray, this is my favorite iOS learning site.

I would love to see any tutorials dealing with:
* Side-scrolling / Parallax background Scrolling for platform games
* Customizing (graphically) subclasses of TabBar, NavBar or Split-View controllers (similar to your Table Cell tut)
* Access and modify photos in photo library with "filters" or "blend modes"

Thanks for all you do Ray & team, love the site.
