Announcing upcoming talks and workshops - including Cocos2D via Minigames!

From time to time, I speak at various iOS conferences or give iOS related workshops like iOS 101 or Cocos2D via Minigames.

The main reason I do this is so that I can meet you guys! I really enjoy meeting fellow iOS devs, especially those of you who I’ve known via the forums, Twitter, etc.

So this is just a quick note to let you guys know about the upcoming iOS conferences I’ll be speaking at and our upcoming workshop – and I hope to be able to meet some of you there! :]

Conference Talks

This fall is the time for a lot of great iOS conferences, and several of them have been kind enough to ask me to speak:

  • August 13 – Washington DC – iOS Dev Camp DC 2011: Here I’m giving a talk on “Intro to Cocos2D”. Will be great to meet a bunch of local devs!
  • Sept 11-14 – Denver, CO – 360iDev: Here I’ll be giving a freshly updated iOS 101 workshop, along with a joint talk on “Intro to Cocos2D” with Rod Strougo. Can’t say enough good things about this conference – a must attend for indie devs!
  • Nov 11-13 – Boston, MA – VTM iPhone: Rod and I are teaming up to give a 1-day version of our “Cocos2D via Minigames” workshop here.

Upcoming Weekend Cocos2D via Minigames Workshop!

Also, Rod and I are pleased to announce that we are also offering a 2-day version of our Cocos2D via Minigames workshop this October in Denver, CO!

We’ve taught this workshop twice before now and always have a blast teaching it, and students seem to have really enjoyed it too.

If you haven’t seen it already, here’s a trailer of the minigames we make in the workshop:

If you register by August 31, there’s an early bird discount of $100 off! Check out the signup page for more details.

And That’s A Wrap!

I hope to see some of you at these upcoming conferences or talks. If you can attend any, please
drop me a note, I’d love to meet up with you and chat, or grab a coffee/beer! :]

  • Soooo, when are you coming to the Netherlands?

I just started with your cocos2d tutorials (finished http://www.raywenderlich.com/1163/how-to-make-a-tile-based-game-with-cocos2d today) plus I did order your book 2 days ago.. That should help me a lot, right? :)

My girlfriend gave me a good idea for a game to create, I hope I can accomplish it with your tutorials.

  • Glad to hear you are heading to Boston, I'll see if I can get a few fellow coders to head out to the work shop. Perhaps my game will be done by then. Is the venue set? Curious about the details.

  • I've learned so much from you over the last couple of months that I would love to meet you at least to say hi for a few minutes. Unfortunately I live in Canada and I am poor to the power of ten thousand. I am living off of $400 a month right now lol (between myself, my girlfriend, and my toddler) for groceries and bills. Maybe next time :)

  • @Vanhall: Cool, would be great to meet! It will be at the Harvard Medical Center from what I understand. Once the details are set for this I'll probably post more details here.

@Nakor: LOL yeah I understand, things were real tight for me when I got started too. Hopefully some day! :]
